 Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important, and your mailing address, email address, credit card information and any other details given to us are secure and are used for our own purposes only.

 Cleaning

To clean your sweater, dry cleaning is best. I don’t like to dry clean either but it really is the best way to clean handmade garments. You may also hand wash in cool water. Gently squeeze while washing but do not wring or twist. Squeeze out the excess water and then roll the sweater in a thick towel to absorb any remaining water. Re-shape on a dry towel and lay flat to air dry. Avoid wire hangers and the evil dryer!

I cannot accept responsibility for shrinkage or damage from normal wear and tear. I check each sweater carefully but as the material I use is recycled, some slight wear may be evident and is part of the unique history of your garment.

 Contact

Email Michelle at modmod@telus.net.

If you have purchased a sweater, send me a hello and a photo of yourself. I would love to hear from you! Boutique owners are welcome to contact me and wholesale orders are a possibility.

I welcome your suggestions and feedback. Your response to what I create is important to me. Allow me 2-4 days to reply as I am probably buried under a pile of wool! Unfortunately at this time I can’t do custom orders or recycle your sweaters. If you will be visiting the Vancouver area, you are welcome to arrange a studio visit.

 About Me

My name is Michelle and I live and work in beautiful, rainy Vancouver, Canada. I love to create wearable wool clothing for women who recognize that a lot of thought and passion has gone into the design and making of her original sweater. It is a great pleasure to create sustainable apparel using recycled fabric.

I source and deconstruct the materials myself and the cutting, tailoring and finishing is all done by hand. These beautiful sweaters are built to last and will give you pleasure for many seasons to come.

I have always had an interest in design and when I travel I have been known to rearrange the hotel room furniture. I feel blessed to be able to work with color, create anything I like and enjoy my music as I work. I am an only child.

Why not try to create something out of recycled fabric? Wouldn’t a shivering shelter puppy welcome a cozy blanket? How about making a warming pair of mitts or slippers for an elderly neighbour? Give it a try! They are happy to see you and don’t care how well you sew.

I would like to thank you all for visiting mod to modern and for your support.
