Hi there. I am busy creating new sweater designs and am having fun exploring different ways to work with the wool fabric. It sure is a lot of work preparing the wool to use, that is the deconstruction of the garment. I do not simply go to a fabric store and buy yards of fabric and be able to cut the number of pieces I require. That would be easy... or less labour intensive anyway. Sometimes I love a colour ( Canadian spelling remember!) but I have only a small amount to work with. I have to decide how to use a small amount in a dynamic way! It is like working on a jigsaw puzzle. It challenges my creativity and forces me to work in a certain way. Love it!
Today a friend an I visited a high end plant nursery and I walked around just staring at the various colours of green. Millions of tones and qualities of texture... heaven! I also enjoy the garden structures and supports that they now have so much of. Faux rusty cages, wire objects, towers, reflective globes to float in a pond, and fountains that are made of plastic yet look so much like stone. I really do not care for the plants strange to say, as I am cursed with the black thumb of plant death. I am sure that each plant I touched today is well on its way to hell. No matter how careful I am to not over or under water or light my greenery, they die!!!! It is very upsetting. And I want an all black garden. (Well it would be if I had to tend it.) I mean a garden with all the plants in the darkest tones of purple, red, green etc... so that there are only various shades of black . How elegant, and weird too. An anti-garden. With chrome lawn furniture and lots of mirrors and a lardge disco ball lit at night. Hey, this sounds like a 70's porn set! Damn right baby... I just dont get the French country look, all Toile and teacups and roses. Arrrghh! Unimaginative crap!. That style to me is like owning leather furniture. Hey, a little leather ( or plastic!) is a fine thing but to get a whole squooshy set of leather furniture is crushingly common. I did see some funky disturbed looking repro garden gnomes though. I guess it is about time that the gnome trash trend will be reclaimed. Now I want a pitch and putt too... with a windmill and a cat hazard! Now all I need is a yard! Again, the site is crawling to its completion!. Soooooonnnnn. Hey, if anyone reads this stuff let me know, like leave a comment. And if you do have leather furniture... sorry, I am sure it is very nice. Cheers, Michelle

Oops, Cohen that is. I spelled it wrong but he is still my man! I am busy with some new wool sweater designs although it is hard to concentrate on things wooly when the weather is this hot! I am diggin' the stylin' new way things are taking my work. My website is almost done... cripes at last! I have really enjoyed doing the creative design side while my web designer Penny has done a great job with the nuts and bolts set up. I highly reccomend her, she is patient and professional and has gone to great pains to make sure that I am satisfied with how things look. She has not even screamed at me once! You rock Penny! Unfortunately my horoscope says that from now until July 29 it is the worst time to start any new projects. But hey, the way things are going and my habit of butt draggin' I won't have anything off the ground until then anyway. I am also working on setting up an ebay store. Come visit me there too!

He is my man, and Canadian too!

Gosh summer is here at last and yesterday I chose to sit in a darkened movie theatre and ignore the sun. It was worth it to see I Am Your Man, a tribute to Leonard Choen. My husband snored beside me as I cried my brains out. Now I want to shave my head and become a monk(ette), and write, or attempt to write, anything. I did consider studying when I lived in Kyoto and often saw monks begging on the streets. But the hardships expected and the demands of the discipline were so great that I didnt think I had the fortitude to walk that path. In otherwords Me likes the sleeping in and the soft beds. Not getting up at 5:00 am and breaking the ice off of the top of a bucket of water just to wash my face. Then 3 hours of starved meditation while being hit with sticks. Back to the movie... all of his songs were delivered with great sensitivity and depth. Just go see it and remember, it may not be for everyone... my husband is proof of that. Next up The Devil Wears Prada! Oh yeah, the site is almost ready already! New sweater designs have been completed and I am off to the UBC Botanical gardens to enjoy Canada Day!
